There were many things he lost, but along the way he gained many others. At last, he could spend the rest of his life peacefully, together with that person whose existence was the most dear to him. Yet who could foresee that the day of happiness would turn into a tragedy? It was as though the joy he thought he had obtained was nothing more than a fleeting dream. To be thrown from the peak of bliss into the depth of misery, at the bottom of despair, he was told that that his most precious person would soon leave before him to the afterworld.

Five times Ye Baiyi saw a glimpse of himself and Rong Changqing in Wen Kexing and Zhou Zishu, and one time that he didn't. Because ultimately, the story that fate had weaved for them had been destined to be different from the beginning.

Wen Kexing is the head designer of Valle'Gho, a fashion industry. They are known for creating exquisite designs, but crushing the aspirations of new models. Everyone who worked for them quit within weeks as a mere shell of their former self. Zhou Zishu is a new face to this line of work, having seemingly emerged from nothing. Just a simple IT job. All he has going for him is a pretty appearance. He becomes Wen Kexing's favorite model....but there's a twist. He's not there to be a model.

Zhou Zishu had a dream. In that dream, he received a chance to alter destiny. To prolong a life that was about to end, to stop time for eternity in exchange of worldly pleasures. The stake was high, but Zhou Zishu was not afraid. As long as a certain someone was by his side, be it braving the wind and the frost, to live under the sun or in the depth of darkness, his heart would be at peace. Yet who knows that the salvation he obtained was paid at the price of someone dear to him. Even if one could live on like a deity, if his soulmate is not by his side, then for what reason does he live?

Zhou Zishu came back from his daily wage work and took a bath. He noticed that there was no underwear in his almirah. 'That's not right,' he thought. 'I just threw one towards the laundry, one is hung out to dry, and that's two. I thought I had three underwears...' He wrapped a towel low on his waist and marched out. He shouted, "Who stole my underwear!?"

Zhou Zishu is sent off to Kunzhou under Prince Jin's orders to eradicate martial artists, especially secret societies, which may pose a threat to Prince Jin when he conquers that land. When he finds out about the Ghost Valley, he knows that it must be what the prince was talking about. But in a twist of fate, the Ghost Valley Master, Wen Kexing, along with his servant, Gu Xiang, and him are left to fend for themselves after being attacked by mysterious assassins. Note: I might use and alter some scenes from WOH

Qin Jiuxiao sees the affection between his shixiongs and plots for their happiness. The chibi stickers on the cover were taken from the fan wiki for Wen Kexing (could probably be found on Zhou Zishu's page too tbh), under the "Official Q-version" in the gallery

Zhou Zishu ended up dying in the end anyways. Wen Kexing has to live with Cheng Ling and try to focus on living a new life without his soulmate.
