A space-faring Empire has expanded and colonised all known systems, stretched their territory all the way to the mysterious Veil at the edge of the universe. Now faced with overpopulation they have developed massive ships capable of acting as self-sufficient colonies. They never need to land, they never need to refuel, they grow their own food. To test the effects of living on these vessel 100 participants from throughout the Empire are sent out on a year-long voyage, with no contact with the Empire and no way to control the ship that is now their home. But not everything goes to plan. Power struggles among the passengers lead to volatile situations; A murder on board changes everything; And several passengers make a bold plan that might ruin everything or could be their one chance of survival. And all the while Nora just really wants to be left alone.
