There are still some places in this world where magic exists. It clings to the remote parts of the world that Time has left behind and forgotten, where life is simpler and nature is powerful. An example is Teelin, an island off the coast of Ireland, in Teelin you are either a farmer or a fisherman unless you work in Rell the largest town on Teelin. There are few cars and fewer well paved roads, the summers are often cloudy and the winters bitter but there is a wild powerful magic in every leaf and every wave that crashes on the cliffs. It is not the magic of movies with pretty sparks and silly words, it is the raw elements, deep and dark, complex and dangerous. It is addicting, and to the residents of Teelin it is a part of life. Something to watch out for, something to beware of but in the end no different than the wild dog packs that roam the moors, dangerous but avoidable. For it is not humans who wield the magic, it is the Sidhe, the Fey who wander the island, who live in the forests and lurk under the waves.

Jane Bourgeois. The daughter of Wendy Darling. You would think she had lived an amazing life filled with imagination and fairies right? Well, that all ended when her mother died during birth and her father died from alcohol poisoning shortly afterwards and she was left to the Bourgeoiss. And they despised her. Her uncles weren't eligible to care for her and the Bourgeoiss only wanted her for the money. When she was 14 she visited Neverland. She met difficulties and had many adventures with Tinkerbell and Peter. Until she had to leave. She told everyone about her adventures but no one believed her. Overwhelmed with excitement the Bourgeoiss sent Jane to an institution and left her there.

Monster High is good, it was one of my favorites growing up. However, it was obviously underdeveloped. The monsters were supposed to be going to a high school hidden from humans, but yet all the major cities like London, Hollywood and New York were full of monsters and had freaky names, so how on earth did the humans not know about the monsters and their whereabouts? I have re-imagined the monster high world and have re-built it in a way that the original concept of a hidden monster high school works.
