The sun had not yet fully crested the eastern ridges of the Sweet Apples Flowers farm, but the sky was already bleeding into a canvas of soft apricot and lavender hues, signaling the imminent arrival of dawn. The air in the Realm of Light and Life hung heavy with the scent of dew-kissed grass, ripe apples, and the earthy perfume of turned soil. It was a crisp morning, the kind that promised a day of vigorous labor followed by the deep, satisfying exhaustion of honest work. **Date:** Thursday, October 12, 3042 (Realm Calendar) **Time:** 5:45 AM **Location:** Sweet Apples Flowers Farm, The Rolling Hills of Serenity, Realm of Guardians of Light and Life **Weather:** Clear skies, light mist, temperature 58°F (14°C), rising. Shylara Shy-Farmer stood on the porch of her modest, timber-framed farmhouse, her bare feet pressing against the cool, smooth wood. She wore her signature attire, a crisp white kimono adorned with delicate pink and red floral patterns that seemed to bloom across the fabric like living things. The silk was thin enough to breathe in the warming air but substantial enough to provide comfort. A wide, textured gold obi belt cinched the garment at her waist, accentuating her gentle curves and providing a striking contrast to her light blue skin. Her long, black hair cascaded down her back in loose waves, catching the first rays of sunlight and shimmering with an obsidian gloss. She took a deep breath, her kind blue eyes scanning the horizon. The farm sprawled out before her, a testament to years of careful cultivation and love. Rows of apple trees, heavy with fruit, lined the gentle slopes. Between them, patches of wildflowers-daisies, cornflowers, poppies, and buttercups-created a mosaic of color that attracted bees and butterflies in droves. In the distance, the ocean glittered, its surface calm and reflective, bordered by small islands that dotted the horizon like emeralds.

*ON HIATUS sorry for the wait* Nobody better be feeling sorry for Will, the fast-talking, fast-rolling twelve-year-old who happens to have cerebral palsy. Will Fortin is unstoppable, the fastest kid on two-wheels in his school. He figures he's more than sharp enough to figure out what happened to his father, with the help of his friend Meg. Since his mother died keeping all her secrets, locating a secondary parental unit is kind of a priority. Not that Will needs a home--he pretty much runs the show at Lakeland Manor, the group home where he lives now--but every kid needs a dad to send birthday money and show up for graduation, right? Meghan Fehr is child number three of six in her hard-working farm-family and, up until now, she's been happy to blend in with all the other boys--her older brother Luke and the twins. But apparently her body has other plans. Nobody makes her feel more alive than her friend Will, with his big dreams and his big personality. They're making plans for an epic summer together and it feels like even when her body won't do all the things she wants, anything is possible with Will. A summer of secrets and discovery, of cows and horses and possibly a poodle or two thrown in. A stand-alone novel set in the world of Hiding and For Us.
