(slow burn city kid+cowboy) I'm returning to the Wilson's house in Eastern Washington as I always do for the summer. Fifty acres of grass and woods, and a hill with a two-story house perched on top. I'm excited to see my friends Bren and Jan again. They are the best. It's so cool that a city kid like me gets the opportunity to help out on a farm for the summer. There's always something new going on at this house! Chew Chew the cow birthed a calf and Luna the cat has kittens! There's also a new member to our group! A guy named Joe is staying there as ranch-hand or something. I wonder if he's anything like Bren? They kinda looked similar in the photo that I was sent Hopefully this summer is a series of adventures cause I really can't see how this year is any different from the others...

Eli Mercer doesn't talk about what he wants. He talks about what needs doing. When Maggie Hart comes to Iron Hollow Ranch with a championship horse and a carefully guarded heart, they make one agreement: this is business. Nothing more. Maggie learned the hard way that love always comes with strings. Eli learned that people leave. Silence feels safer for both of them. But silences can stretch-and bend. Between early mornings, shared work, and the slow unraveling of carefully built walls, what they don't say begins to matter more than what they do and when the past demands payment, Maggie and Eli must decide whether staying quiet is worth losing the one thing neither of them planned on finding. Each other.

Sloane Tate has everything money can buy and nothing she actually needs. Raised in the glare of Los Angeles wealth by parents who only notice her when she's in trouble, Sloane has learned how to be loud enough to be seen. One reckless night, one arrest too public to ignore, and her parents decide the solution is distance. They send her to Texas. To a quiet ranch outside Wimberley. To grandparents she barely knows. To a life that smells like dust, hay, and bacon in the mornings. Ember Ridge Ranch is nothing like the world Sloane came from. It's slower. Rougher. Honest in a way that makes her uncomfortable. And it comes with Rowan the ranch hand who lives on the edge of the property, keeps his distance, and looks at her like she's an inconvenience he didn't ask for. Rowan is all grit and restraint. Sun-worn hands. Sharp blue eyes. A jaw dusted with scruff that looks like trouble. He doesn't care who Sloane's parents are, doesn't fall for her city polish, and doesn't hide his irritation when she pushes his boundaries. They clash instantly. She thinks he's rude. He thinks she's spoiled. Neither wants to admit the tension sparking between them feels dangerous. As Sloane begins to soften under the Texas sun surprising even herself with how naturally she fits into ranch life but old secrets buried in the attic begin to surface. Papers she doesn't yet understand. Clothes that carry memories that don't belong to her. A yellow dress that rattles Rowan in a way he refuses to explain. And beneath it all, a past tragedy tied to Sloane's family threatens to unravel everything she's just beginning to build. Because Ember Ridge isn't just a place to hide. It's a place where the truth is waiting. And some things don't stay buried forever.

The orchard was supposed to be a promise of plenty. Instead, it became Ellie Whitaker's prison-roots tangled in grief after her mother's death, branches heavy with the debt that stole her future. Poetry was her secret escape; marriage to Caleb Thorne felt like the final lock. But Caleb was never a cage. He was the man who fixed fences in the dark, left apples on her porch, and waited years without a word of demand. When necessity made them husband and wife, something shifted. Not fireworks-quiet. A writing desk built in the barn. A child's hand in hers. A shared sunset after another failed harvest. Decades pass. Children grow. Losses pile like fallen leaves. Yet through every winter of the heart, they return to the orchard-pruning, planting, holding on. Ellie learns that healing isn't forgetting pain; it's letting love grow beside it. A slow, soul-deep romance of two people who build a life not despite the storms, but through them. Some loves don't burn bright-they endure.

Juliette Johnson has always found refuge at Aunt Maya's farm. Summers spent among the horses and rolling fields were once her escape as a child - now, in her early twenties and fresh from a painful breakup, she's hoping the peace of country life can silence the memories that keep her awake at night. Far from the house where her parents' bitter divorce plays out and the rumors that cling to what happened in Portugal, Julie wants nothing more than quiet days with her brother Ollie and nights of dreamless sleep - without needing pills to get there. But peace is hard to find when Nicholas James is living under the same roof. Hired to help Maya keep the farm running, Nick's blunt edges and guarded silences make him impossible to read - and impossible to ignore. He's distant, yet soft at unexpected moments, and the strange calls that send him storming out at night only deepen his mystery. Julie promised herself she wouldn't let anyone close enough to break what's left of her fragile heart - but some secrets refuse to stay buried. As summer stretches on, Julie must face whether she can find the balance she craves, or if she'll lose even more when the season ends. Restoring Balance is a moving story of hidden wounds, fractured families, and the fragile hope of healing when everything feels lost.

**Scene Excerpt:** Instinctively, I reached for her, pulled her toward me, wrapped an arm around her back and held her as if that was exactly what I should have been doing all night. Her slight frame fit frighteningly well against my side, her body warm, her breathing uneven. I stroked her back in a steady, soothing rhythm, trying to understand what had happened without pressing her for answers. After a while, she lifted her head and looked at me, her eyes glassy and tired. Then she leaned in, slowly, uncertainly, as if she wanted to kiss me. As a thank you. Or out of desperation. Or maybe both. I gently held her back. "No," I said quietly, barely more than a breath. "Not like this." She blinked, seeming to need a moment to process my words. "I'm sorry," she murmured then, the words heavy on her tongue. "We're just friends. I know." That sentence-my sentence-hit me harder than I had expected. "If tomorrow," I said calmly, resting a hand against her forehead, "if you still want to kiss me when you're not drunk anymore... then do it. Okay?" Without thinking, I pressed a fleeting kiss to her forehead. No calculation. Just instinct. She clung to me tighter, pulling me closer, and I let her. More than that-I enjoyed it. Cara has learned to stay silent. About guilt. About things that can't be undone. And about a past she keeps carefully hidden. Jan believes in order, in rules-and in the idea that life makes sense if you follow them. But on an old estate on the Spanish coast, he meets a girl who quietly, yet irrevocably, begins to shake those convictions. Between horses, sea air, and unspoken truths, a closeness grows-cautious at first, then dangerously honest. Because some stories refuse to be buried. And some feelings demand more than courage. After four years of owning their dead Grandfather's farm and no love life in sight, the farmer is reluctant to teach Clint how to make Emily notice him. However, the Farmer is finds herself entangled in a relationship that she never expected herself to be in. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Excerpt from most recent release: His hands encased the back of my arms, keeping me in place, resolutely making me his with nowhere to hide. I gasped for the tepid air, feeling the smoke in the fireplace enter my senses just as his pine odor entwined with my breath. His touch moved to my shoulders above my breast, and he pushed nimbly towards the wall closest to his workspace. I readily moved with him, not resisting at the moment. I felt the cool wall push against my palms, my back pressed as far as I could, and yet Clint was still moving forward towards me. Slowly yet surely, he didn't stop until his abdomen was pushed tight against my breast. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Notes: On a serious note, guys, I only started writing this as a joke, and as we know, it isn't a joke anymore. I've been compromised. I really recommend just skimming through part one, because it's just fluff and uses way too many fanfic buzzwords and I thought I was being funny. Tis not the case. Anyway, it gets good around the end of part 2, and into part 3. I was thinking of making a love triangle with Shane, Clint, and the Farmer, so tell me what suggestions you have, and I'll seriously consider them. Love you, readers! XOXO
