Cassidy Higgins is Marcus Higgins' niece but after her parents died in a devastating car crash she moves in with her uncle. When her uncle then gets call that his old basketball coach dies, she ends up going to the funeral . That was the start to what she thought was going to be a boring summer.

Mia Evans is born in a cold household with very busy parents and no siblings. She was born rich, but she has never been spoiled or bratty. On this particular summer, her parents decided to go to a cruise ship and she was handed off to her Uncle Marcus Higgins. When the death of Coach Buzzer arise, she has to go with her uncle to the lake house for him to spend time with his friends and their own families.
