Author's Note: Hey all (and by that, I mean the two people that have seen this), I'm Aranok11 and this is my first webnovel. Inspiration: I was inspired to write this when I found Eeveelution squad (which was great by the way), but wished there was more of chapters 1-4 (before PKM-150/EV-Zero decided to add a multiversal genocidal parasite). Also, I really enjoyed the character development and slice-of-life parts of Wings of Fire. I pretty much just gave up looking for a book or webcomic that could fulfil what I wanted, and made my own. It's going to be some big chapters (where most of the character development happens) that can take a few pages to complete (moving mayhem, the first chapter, is seven pages long), split up by short, comedic chapters that only last a page or two. On Christmas Eve, a teenage girl encounters a lost child who does - and doesn't - want help getting home. A sweet sentimental story. ( I wrote the first draft of this story in 1988, filed it away and forgot about it. Almost forty years later, I came across the manuscript again and decided to flesh it out and share it with family and friends. It was inspired by stories I had read in the women's magazines my mother used to buy in the 1950's -- typically featuring wholesome middle-class characters, with a familiar plot device and a feel-good ending. Baby boomers will probably recognize the genre, but others will also enjoy it. It's about a 15-minute read.)

Originally you were born in the Hidden City, not sure where specificly but you knew you were born there due to your outward appearence. As offapring of the Nure-onna, a japanese yokai that resembles a reptilian creature as of course you have her features but also human as well. Your mother, an incredibly wise-full yokai was rather distant in her life, leaving her human husband (your dad) into partialy raising you and your brother Kareem, your father instilled in both your brother and you of fears regarding outside New York. You, like your brother and father learned how things work in the City, at somepoint you anyour brother began to fee a desire to escape knowing you don't belong in New York. but you two handled such desire differently. While your brother turned to a life of crime, killing huamans with his poisen, and passivlely eating whatever human he can lure and learning about mystic artifacts as his means to cope with lack of affection and unchecked rage, you took a more active course. You became problomatic for your dad due to your attempts at escaping from New York to your actual home. Soon it became clear to you that there is no way of getting out and you weren't a people person, looking at one makes you wander how much pressure it takes to pop their head clean off, until momentarily a new life began to unravel before you.
