Despite his stubbornness to become close to anyone, a drunk encounter with the town's new farmer leads him into a kind of friendship with her. Several months later, Shane is afraid to face that he might have feelings for her, just as expected from Shane, the second he begins to feel emotional vulnerability he pushes her away. This story is what happens afterwards.
