The family and most of the villagers watched silently as the group of foreign strangers led Mirabel away towards the dense thicket, towards wherever they claimed they had their camp set up. Mirabel Madrigal a 15 year old girl who has gone through so much, she's been abandoned ever since she didn't get a gift. She's gone through so much, she was ignored, neglected and blamed for problems that she didn't even do and constantly reminded of that day. She goes through a sudden change, she grows another emotion. She grows more childish and finds company in younger children as she feels as if she's just like them. She didn't know where it came from, could it have been the loneliness eating at her? Or could it be Casita who wanted everyone to have a different insight?

After suddenly waking up in Colombia a few years ago, Maurelia is finally able to get a house and job in Encanto. After being there for a year she has drawn the attention of the magical family, the Madrigals. However, one Madrigal seems more interested in her than the others. A new family moves into town. That should be normal, right? What if there was another miracle? Given to another family? Well, meet the Montgomerys. The town they moved from knew they had magic and it got out of hand having to deal with everything and all the favors they were giving, so they moved. They decided to keep their powers secret in Encanto. Alma Madrigal started disliking the family because they keep to themselves, don't seem interested in the Madrigals, and she knows they have powers because Bruno saw them coming in a vision. She told all the Madrigals not to talk to them.

Julieta Madrigal. She's the eldest of Alma's triplets. Any food she makes, which is naturally good, can heal you if you eat it. Pepa Madrigal. She's a middle triplet. She has a crazy temper and often doesn't get jokes the first time. Her emotions manifest as weather, so often she's bitter a lotbout that. Bruno Madrigal. The baby of the family. He is shy and superstitious, which his sisters don't mind. He can see the future, and often tries to befriend the rats in Casita's walls. This takes place from when they're high-school age til right before Encanto takes place.

what if insted of mirabel, camilo was the main character and mirabel got a gift?? ------- camilo's gift is always called useless and it affected him greatly, but one thing he never understood is why abluela always disliked him, even before his gift? one day camilo finds a picture of his tio bruno and a random woman and things go down hill FAST

All her life, she hadn't been able to receive a gift. She is neglected, ignored, even abused in some cases. As she holds the candles, the last remains of Casita, she decides no one should deserve anything amazing when someone else receives worse. Mirabel decided no more hiding in the shadows.

to sum it up Carlos has a different gift than Camilo but it still involves shape shifting and overtime he gets a crush on a boy and him and this boy hang out a lot but.... Carlo's gift can make him a little bit of a target for some of the older kids in the village
