Emily never believed in the afterlife- Heaven, hell whatever you want to call it. She believed you get one life and you've got to live it right. No failure, no regrets. Go all out and you'll be happy. She planned her life out according to this, but once someone comes unexpectedly into her life her plan falls apart. She looses look on herself and becomes what she never wanted to be. Through it all she realizes her overlook wasn't what she truly needed, the diversity to come would be better then any complete life. So she let her life fall perfectly apart.
