Maddie and her little brother Joseph's parents walked out of the house one day and never came back. Maddie had no idea where they were or if she'd ever see them again. All she knew was the government wanted to place her and Joseph into different foster homes and she wasn't gonna let that happen. She and Joseph ran away and began making their own way. They were doing all right until, in a twist of mysterious fate, they were framed for murder and put in a holding prison to await trial. Maddie couldn't lose Joseph. Couldn't go to prison for life.
