* Until the Work is Done. Charlotte Janssen is an Air Force C-17 pilot. She was raised in Boise by her grandparents and returns home to care for her ailing grandfather. She takes a job as an airline pilot and begins the task of a full renovation of her 100 year old house and that's when she meets Justin. This novella is written for the Open Novella Contest 2020, prompt #67 "Well, that was a New Year's Eve kiss you won't forget anytime soon." A longer version of this story is being written as a Hallmark Novel and Movie Screenplay.

Her philosophy in life was simple- blend in, be humble, be competent, be professional, earn respect and above all, never catch a man's attention, nor want, beg, give and return affections. Somewhere along the way, Annie lost herself and her femininity, now buried under so many defensive layers, that she can't reach it anymore. When she meets the strong, self-assured, medical officer Alexander Westwood, she avoids him at all costs, as she slowly finds her defences crumbling down, as he pursues her earnestly.
