Book Description DROWNING IN RED Beneath the Surface, Everything Hurts By Anothando Ndarala Behind every smile is a story nobody hears. Some people carry grief in their hearts. Others carry heartbreak in their bones. Some spend years fighting battles inside their minds while the world never notices a thing. DROWNING IN RED is a raw and emotionally powerful collection of 200 poems that explores the hidden corners of the human experience-grief, betrayal, heartbreak, loss, loneliness, self-doubt, self-sabotage, anxiety, depression, and the long road toward healing. Through haunting imagery and deeply personal reflections, these poems give a voice to the feelings many people struggle to put into words. Every page uncovers another layer of pain, another wound left behind by love, loss, disappointment, and survival. This collection is for the people who have stayed awake all night replaying memories. For the people who have watched someone they love become a stranger. For the people who have felt broken by life yet somehow found the strength to keep going. Heartbreaking, honest, and unforgettable, DROWNING IN RED takes readers on a journey through darkness and despair while reminding them that even in the deepest waters, hope can still exist. Because sometimes the strongest people are not the ones who never break. They are the ones who keep living after they do. If you've ever loved too much, lost too much, or carried pain in silence, these poems will feel like they were written for you. Welcome to the depths. Welcome to DROWNING IN RED.

This is a piece I wrote about my experiences and life as someone with ADHD and Autism (undiagnosed). How I perceive the world around me as well as myself. It's written in a way that puts the reader in my shoes, hopefully giving those who do read it a somewhat unique point of view.

Step into a world where the towering trees are so vast that their ranches stretch for miles, casting shadows over the forest floor and concealing creatures that have never seen the sky. Deep in the heart of this enchanted forest lies a village hidden in the grass, where residents have lived in fear of their children being taken for years. But despite their precautions, the disappearances have started again. This story follows a young boy named Dren, a boy born into a world of fear and overprotection. Dren's generation was instilled with the knowledge of safety, and how to survive in the terrifying world. Dren practiced safety daily. He found solace and normality in taking elaborative steps to avoid danger. However, when he is forced to leave the safety of his home, he realizes that the world he knew is not what it seems. Join Dren on his journey as he discovers that the village he has always called home is not as safe as he once thought, and that his future lies beyond the confines of his sheltered life.

Do you struggle with your thoughts? One minute you're okay and then the next minute you're breaking down into tears? One minute you want to be around others then the next minute your mind is telling you "You should be alone, because no one wants you around."? One minute you're smiling, then the next minute you just can't shake your frown? Maybe it's not the people around you. Maybe your mind is your real monster.
