Alice Kirkland's life went downhill ever since the energetic, heroine of a girl, Amelia F. Jones, she's raised and cared for was sucked into a mirror. However it wasn't just any old mirror. It was ancient, left sitting in dust in her attic to keep its tempting power hidden and concealed. The worst part? A boy that reminded her so much of Amelia appeared in her place, left only with the memory of his name: Alfred F. Jones. A mix of sadness, confusion and anger suddenly dawns upon her and she thought it was over until she herself got pulled into the mirror. Who will take care of her now that she's out of that mirror? The bloody Frog, that's who. France, also known as Francis Bonnefoy. As she goes through her new life outside the mirror, she meets new countries, reunites with the heroine, and even finds herself facing off with one of the most powerful, feared nations of the world who happens to be America's rival, but there is one part of her crazy life she finds the most surprising: The man she thought was simply plain annoying and overly flirty, was really kind, affectionate, caring, gentlemanly and compassionate and the key to her finally realizing that she was more than just A Mere Reflection. Francoise, the female personification of France, has always loved the boy. Never understanding how he could be forgotten loving him with all her heart. When she saw him crying, she and Matthew spoke. His affection's for her as strong as hers. Eventually, switching roles, Matthew comforts her, because he loves her.

First a girl that he was told looked a lot like him had disappeared, then Alice vanishes too, after that he realizes that he was starting to lose his memories along with his identity and finally that he has fallen in love with that quiet, sweet girl that had always been by his side. Madison Williams. But how could she ever love him back? How could an amazing girl like her fall in love with a Fading Hero? However, America learns about Madison's true feelings, and finds a way that could possibly put everything back the way it was. But will America be able to let go of the princess he's fallen for? Will he be able to let go of Amelia? And will Amelia be able to let England go and get America back when she has the chance, even if it meant sealing the barrier between their two messed up worlds?
