Alexandria is placed in charge of the Golden Guard (three soldiers who have one of the highest positions in the army and are given some of the hardest assignments) at a time when women had almost no equal rights and being a female in the army -let alone one of the highest positions was considered impossible. Alex has the chance to prove her worth and pave the way for other girls when the Golden Guard go on a mission to try and save the kidnapped prince. Among her other problems is one of the soldiers in her charge -Liam who is determined to see Alex lose her position so he can take over.

Annie goes to a conservative school. A bit too conservative, so she thinks. Here to break the rules she does everything in her power to prove the school that they are wrong. And just maybe there's a little more behind her tough shell
