"Next!" The man shouts and looks at me, waiting for the moment that I'll get on. Smiling, I'm about to step onto the cart when a boy steps in front of me. "What do you think you're doing?" I exclaim, he just cut in front of me! The large, handsome guy that looks to be my age, smirks. "Mister, you cut in front of me," I glare. "Too bad, you were taking forever," he shrugs and is about to get on to steal my place, when I push him. And he happens to step on dog poo, trip even more and crash into a boy holding a slushy; effectively getting drenched in the blue icy liquid. || All Annora Winter wanted was to have one ride on the Ferris wheel without any interruptions. Annora is a closed off, humorous and bright girl just trying to get through high school without much trouble. But when Blair Kingsley, the popular, handsome ladies man cuts in front of her.... she isn't about to let him off so easily. But her bravery comes crashing down after the boy is covered in a drink caused by her. What happens when Blair happens to move to her school? What happens when straight away he becomes more popular and powerful than she thought? What happens when he has a deep hatred towards her? I loved the state fair. The smell of the popcorn. The taste of the salted butter. Hearing people scream with joy. The feel of the soft fur of the stuffed animals you win. Seeing couples go on the ferris wheel. I loved the fair so much. Until the accident in 1989 happened. It could've been me, should've been me. But it wasn't. Now I live here with all the guilt to walk away with. Everyone blames me for what happened. If I were them, I would too. I mean a girl sitting with the person on the ferris wheel, and then all of the sudden, the seat falls, and that person dies while the girl walks away unharmed. That 'person' was my 6 year old brother, and that 'girl' was me. He had so much to live for. I still hear his screams and laughter from that night, only to die for my sins. I blame myself. I could have saved him, but I didn't, why? This book was a school project that developed into an actual book. I finally had the confidence to post it, so here it is.

Via Alcantara and Gage Pelaez suddenly became close due to having mutual friends. Being in the same friend group made it easy for them to know each other even more. Via, as a graduating student, has a very packed schedule, but going on escapes such as night drives and ferris wheel rides calms her clouded mind. Gage is always there whenever she wants to unwind. But whenever they're together, it's like they can hear each other's feelings echoing.
