The only thing that cheers him up is being able to look out of his window in the afternoon, because that's where freedom is and that's all Harry has ever wanted. Until new neighbours suddenly appear and Harry's window and all the other windows are suddenly locked. He is devastated and his strict mother doesn't help much either.
