Growing up on the south side of Memphis, Rose never had an easy life. With an emotionally and physically abusive mom, and an absentee dad, she seemed doomed to be "just another statistic" from the start. The only good things about her life are her two best friends...that is until Child Protective Services removes her from her mother's custody and places her into a foster home. Rose's world is slammed upside down, and it seems like she's in a never ending struggle to survive. Will Rose be able to overcome her personal struggles and make it out unscathed, or will she turn out to be everything everyone always said she would be?
