Everyone, including the Doctor, believes that Adric was killed at the end of Earthshock. What if he didn't die, but was instead captured by the Master to be used in his nefarious plan? Will he ever escape? Will he ever see the Doctor again? Cross posted to AO3.

The Fifteenth Doctor encounters an unexpected twist, as a Ruby from the future materialises inside the Tardis. The future Ruby, looking exhausted and desperate, warns the Doctor of a war taking place in 2025, caused by a rift in time. The adventure tests the Doctor's and Ruby's trust and decisions. Is their friendship strong enough to overcome the war and survive? ***Set after the Series 1 finale. Some time has passed and Ruby is back travelling with the Doctor.***
