I woke up panting my breathing was uneven I had sweat all over my body I looked at the time it's 11:58 oh fuck I crawled to my bed post brought my knees near my chest started to sob silently the door opened the SHE stood grinning ear to ear one thing is for sure There is no escape from THEM... MISTAKE my parents have done in there childhood..... The story behind this poem isn't much. Life as a teen can sometimes be challenging with the feelings that the world is against you and you don't have enough strength to keep going. However, most of us find our way into the brightness, beauty, and reality of the world, and we try to help those who haven't. Hopefully this poem will give a new perspective to not only teens but also to people who are having a hard time in life and think that they don't have the strength to keep going.

Ava only ever kept two big secrets from her parents. One, was that she played soccer, and the second was.. well... she was an online singing sensation. No one knew about the second one actually. No one but her guy best friend. Ever since she was young, she'd been facing the societal expectations and pressures of society.
