Lina and her younger sister Estrella (Little Star) Cruz are tough, sharp-witted Latina Cheerleaders from East L.A. who both transfers to a posh, West Los Angeles high school after thier widowed mother remarries a wealthy man and Lina and Estrella not only finds themself a fish-out-of-their-environment at their new high school but they faces off against Avery, the snobbish and ultra-competitive all-star cheer-leading captain to qualify for a spot on their new school's cheer-leading team with the help of their new sheltered stepsister, Skylar, and their former teammates whom they calls up to help them.
