Maya Hart is an outcast, A loner. Nobody wants her, and she doesn't want anyone. But when Mr. Matthews gives Riley, Farkle, and Lucas a project to become Maya's friend and gain her trust what will everyone turn into?

With a Valentine's day dance right around the corner, Riley couldn't be any more preoccupied with her daydreams about her crush, Lucas. But what if he asks someone-the wrong someone? All three are best friends along with Colin Karter. Lucas is a history teacher and Maya is an art teacher in the same school. Riley is a psychologist and Farkle inherited his fathers company.

Riley, Lucas, Maya and Farkle are in a human growth & development class and there project for the year is to have a family and raise them well. "I gotta go!" Lucas said, jumping down and scrambling into the streets of New York. Farkle came in and sat beside me. "What's Wrong?" He asked. "Me and you have the same issue" "And that is...?" Riley was 13, she was tall, had long brown hair, and hazel eyes. She is quirky, but underneath that giggle, she is insecure. If her friends don't say something, she believes she don't have it. Farkle was 13, he was short, and had floppy dirty blonde hair, and hazel eyes. He is smart, but really, he feels like a nerd. He feels he is too. Lucas is 15, he is tall, has brown hair, green eyes. He is perfect, but behind the eyes and hair, he has trouble leaving his past behind him. He is always dwelling on the past. Maya had always had a crush on her brother's best friend, Lucas Friar. She had always tried to catch his eye, wearing different types of clothes and even dying her hair different colors to try to impress him. That was until he hit his sophomore year of high school. He became the jerk of all jerks, only ever dating girls to get into their pants. So, her 8th grade self promises to never ever let a boy like him steal her heart. But over the years, Lucas begins to develop feelings for Maya. Seeing her grow up into an independent woman who didn't care about others opinions really attracted him. He spends quite some time trying to get Maya to warm up to him, and when he finally succeeds, he is thrilled. He gains her trust quickly after that, and his feelings only grew over that small period of time. Her feelings for him never really completely disappeared, so you can imagine her surprise when he asks her out. She reluctantly agrees, but soon realizes the trouble that comes along with dating Lucas. She tries to keep their relationship hidden from her brother, but in the end, she knows he will find out. So, what will happen in Lucas and Maya's relationship? Will they continue to date after Maya's brother finds out, or will they be split apart?
