The personal account of Colnith, queen and wife to the dead king of the Nandor, the Green-Elves. During her time spent in Menegroth paying homage to Thingol, she is thrown into the company of the spirited Angrod, a prince of the Noldor. At a time of change and conflict among the Eldar, when the diversity of their languages is being threatened, Colnith and Angrod form a complicated friendship, based on both mutual dislike and respect.

Unlike much of his 'insane, blasphemous, kinslaying' family, Calëno had little desire to follow his father's side across the sea.
