In a world that never stops moving, June Everly just wants to slow down.
As a final-year English major at the University of Oregon, June is surrounded by people chasing the next big thing-new trends, class outings, ambitious projects, and weekend adventures. But all she craves is a quiet life: warm tea, handwritten journals, and a little space to breathe.
Dragged by her well-meaning peers into a whirlwind of expectations, June finds herself caught in what she calls "The Rush"-that invisible pressure to keep up, to blend in, to not fall behind. With graduation looming and her sense of self slipping, June must decide if she's willing to be different in a world that demands more, faster, louder.
" why do i have to participate in things i don't like just because everyone else does it".
Follow June on her journey as she tries to relive peaceful moments without conforming to societal norms or changing who she is.
In this heartfelt Slice of life story, 'Simple Things in Life' explores what it means to choose your own pace-and find yourself in the silence between moments.
Note: This is my original story and also my very first. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve, I would gladly welcome them.
This story is short-just a small way to remind people that it's okay to pause, reconnect with yourself, and appreciate the simple things life has to offer.
Thank you so much for reading this far. I hope you'll stay with me until the end of the story.
