She wants to die, but at the very moment when things begin to plumet to turmoil Carter Jenkins steps in and saves her life. A year has passed since that eventful moment and Miranda is ready to go back to Evergreen High to face normal life again. Will she be able to handle things on her own or will life fall apart again? And what about Carter...where does he fit into all of this?

This title reflects the protagonist's desire to stand out, her quest for success, and her journey through different life stages.

Just a short story, though, it so happens to be my favorite short story I've ever written.
