Dailyn Lafortaleza is a Puerto Rican-Cuban middle schooler who lives in the north of Denver with her father. She's considered hysterical, and no one ever dares to approach her, except for a handful of people you could easily count on one hand. For some time now, young boys no older than thirteen have been disappearing one after another - no clues, no traces, nothing at all. One morning, a boy vanishes; the next week, another is added to the list. No one knows whether they're still alive or not. Dailyn feels a shameful sense of relief, believing she's somewhat safe, convinced that the Grabber only goes after boys her age.
