Rey has left to find Luke Skywalker leaving her friend Finn alone at the Resistance Base, giving him a chance to strengthen his friendship with Poe and prepare for the future. But trouble is brewing and the First Order still rule over large parts of the galaxy. Kylo Ren has disappeared for now but a dark energy is getting stronger every day.

An AU where Finn gets sent to a boarding school with his best friend Rey, his roommate is an overly obsessed, emo as hell kid that may as well virtually marry Darth Vader, and he is kind of majorly crushing on a guy with perfect hair and a pretty smile but whom doesn't even know of his existence.

The damaged remains of the Resistance pile onto the Millennium Falcon and flee the planet Crait after a devastating showdown against the First Order. The weak militia celebrate survival, but only briefly, as they slowly sink into solemn grief of the many losses of their comrades. Commander Poe tumbles in guilt and quiet emotional turmoil as he faces his insecurity and the loss of his squadron. Finn waits by the bedside of a serenely resting Rose in a makeshift infirmary, but he is in no way serene himself. Finn feels thing's for Poe that he's never felt before. In an attempt to conceal them while getting help for Rey, he sticks to Poe and goes on adventures while figuring out what his new emotions mean. Meanwhile, Poe is trying his best to get through one day.

Finn and Poe reflect on their lost youth

The Resistance may have won the war, but not everyone wants peace, and the spirits are restless... *set after TROS* I do not own the Star Wars thematic universe, however some characters have been altered or created by me for this fanfic. Some language and modern themes that may be seen as mildly offensive but deserve to be addressed.

Once upon a time, Rey had nothing. Now she has everything she's ever wanted. She is lucky, and happy. And she's considering throwing it all away for someone else. Kylo Ren has done everything he can to destroy and bury his past. But when he has finally defeated the half-imagined ghosts, a new light appears in his life. Fiery, savage, and very, very real. When it comes to lives, Finn hasn't led the best one. Barely had one until recently. Now, he's got something to fight for. Little does he know he will soon also have something to protect. Poe Dameron knows who he is and what he is doing. Commander, hero, best pilot in the Resistance. The war is his life, his world. Boy, is that about to change.

While Poe tries to face his fear of coming out to everyone and disappointing General Leia Organa, Finn tries to convince his boyfriend that nobody would hate them if they finally admitted their relationship. But Poe avoids the conversation, the fear of letting down the only people that have accepted him holding him back from admitting how much easier their lives would become if they were just honest about everything. But as he and Finn try to settle into a day to day routine, more and more distractions come to pull them apart, leaving Poe to wonder if he'll ever get Finn back in his arms again.
