This is the story of an Octavian Slave known as Lilia. She has the ability to absorb the energy from living things and channel the energy into the blue flame that both came protect and destroy. Seen as a witch by her slave master he tries to kill her with a dagger dipped in a forbidden substance called Black Fire. Lilia is able to call on her unstable power to save her life, but it leaves a lasting scar on her back in the shape of a S. Her master than sells her to slave trader believing the scar is an omen of death and destruction. The slave trader learns of Lilia's secret, but his determined to unload his unfortunate commodity. He holds an auction in another province hoping the villagers don't know of Lilia or the events that led to her scar. Many bloodthirsty horny man of the town of Peekaid lust after the young woman, but one man in the town, one of the richest in the province witnesses the slave trader's harshness with the girl. Jerick of the Tamlin region is new to this province, but still a prominent citizen. He loathes the practice of slavery although in Peekaid in the providence of Koenlay slaves have more rights than anywhere else accept for Tamlin where slavery has been abolished. Still Jerick takes pity on the girl and joins the auction outbidding every man in town.
