After five years as a firefighter, Rayne Jenkins thought it was high time for her to try her luck at applying for a lieutenant position at Station 12. And thus far, her chances of being granted that application was high. Except then her captain announced a new guy joining her station - a Lieutenant - and Lieutenant Jake Jackson used to sleep with Rayne's best friend. Not only did Rayne absolutely hate the guy for reasons that she refused to tell anyone. But his appearance at Station 12 was a huge threat to her chances of ever becoming a lieutenant at all - and that did nothing but made Rayne dislike him more. It was awkward. Difficult. Disappointing. But Rayne was nothing but professional, so she had to find a way to work with a boss that she dislikes, even if it will probably drive her mad in the end.

Why can' Lacy remember that night? She was hit on the head and left in an apartment that was soon set on fire. Was someone trying to kill her? Even though Lacy can't remember most of that night after consuming so much alcohol and being struck on the head, she is glad to be rescued by the handsome fireman, Adam. He hurts his arms and is a bit beat up after the rescue mission, but he still stays by Lacy's side after her accident because there is something that tells him she needs to be protected. He's drawn towards her in a sense he can't control. Will they both be able resist the bond that is pulling them closer together? And will they be able to put the clues together to find out what happened that night.?

This story is about a girl named Emily, she is the daughter of a clergyman. she becomes peralized after an accident while her uncle and his friends prepaired for a bike-a-thon at the fire station in her home town. her Uncle is a firefighter and her best friends boyfriend kisses her. she rejects him but he uses it against her by telling his girlfriend that she kissed him. livid her friend causes the accident that makes Emily peralized and she becomes braindamaged. stay with her through her recovery! Emily struggles with her faith when it is tested by a most unthinkable thing!
