Two hundred years ago the rider Eragon and his dragon Sahira were sent to the far east. Now they have returned to find the land they once knew was destroyed when the mysterious black king arose. He is the last free rider, the order of the riders is gone, murdered by Gablatorix. Now they must fight to end his reign.

It's 132 years after the fall of Galbatorix, and the Riders are finally returning. A young girl sees a thunder of dragons flying overhead whilst out playing with her friends, and knows exactly what she wants to be. Ten years on, she still possesses that wish. Despite the wishes of her overly-controlling father, she sneaks out to the Egg Ceremony - and all hell breaks loose.

When a ship arrives in the harbour of Terim with the insignia of Galbatorix, Queen Nasuada sends a contingent of soldiers to find out the truth behind some bizarre rumours...the Galbatorix's son is returning to Alagaësia.

It has been quite a time since Galbatorix's death. Eragon has settled far away from Alagaisia and the Dragon Riders are restored. Soon, a new party of untrained dragons and riders arrives, and one of them seems strangely familiar...

Däralekk is a grey elf, the most powerful species known to the inhabitants of Alagaësia. He has awoken from his slumber in the elven city Araduthrëa, and the elves quickly take him in as one of their own, rashly placing him in charge of all of Du Weldenvarden, which leaves Arya with nothing to do but to follow Eragon into the lands beyond Alagaësia. Lands that have not been touched by the inhabitants of their land for thousands, possibly even millions of years. *Disclaimers* This is a fanfiction based on Christopher Paolini's Inheritance Cycle (also known as the Eragon Series to many in the fandom). This book will overlap with the fourth book slightly, however it is mainly my idea as I have twisted the ending of the last book (Inheritance).

Marinia is given two choices- live with her abusive father miserably for the rest of her life, or go as a servant in Eragon and Arya's school for the new generation of upcoming Dragon Riders. Naturally, she choses the latter. Little did she know, the choice would send her into a tailspin of magic, Riders, and an ultumate betrayal. Where do her loyalties lie? Are they strong enough for the upcoming storm? NOTE: The Inheritance Cycle belongs to Christopher Paolini. Eragon will never come back to Alagaesia, but he wishes he could. Arya secretly loves Eragon, but she turned down his suit. Eragon lives far away on the other side of the world, and Arya lives in Du Weldenvarden. Arya has to fulfill her position as queen of the Elves, and Eragon as a Dragon Rider. Essentially, this is what I think a shorter sequel to the book Inheritance should be. Contains Arya/Eragon and Saphira/Fírnen and may or may not include children thereof. Will talk some about the new Rider school and just other, basic stuff in the books that I think ended up as loose ends. Enjoy ;).

This poem is based on Christopher Paolini's Inheritance book. It is the fourth and for the time being the last book of the inheritance cycle. It is based on Arya's feelings after the end. I met Christopher on 11/06/2012, a mere three weeks after writing and posting this poem here. I never believed I would meet him.
