She watched the man leaf through his papers and watched him with weary eyes, stiffening when he called her name in his thick, German accent. "Sage Legerity." "You are the most capable medic in this town, I have been told." The man said, his voice booming as he scanned the crowd surrounding him in his dictatorship. "Yes, sir." "You are receiving the highest marks in your area, too, Legerity." She nodded again, "Yes, sir." "Then you will come with us." "Y-y" She stopped short, her eyes bulging and her chest constricting. "Excuse me, sir?" Sage began to feel herself showing the symptoms of rapidly increasing panic, her chest rising and falling at an abnormal rate as her breaths came in quick, short bursts. "We need more medics and scientists such as yourself, Legerity. It is an honour for a woman as young as yourself to be chosen to work alongside Arnim Zola in his field of work." Everything dulled around the girl and she felt herself grow woozy, her surroundings beginning to dilate and tumefy around her. She was vaguely aware of someone screaming her name as she fell to the floor, the sound perforating her eardrums. The voice splitting in a way that only the most desperate cry could; all the pain and horror spilling out with every syllable until they were cut short and their cries fell silent. Then there was nothing. - Sage Legerity was selected to work for Hydra as a medic in their Austrian prison camp at the age of 17, three years later she is one of the leading doctors- working solely to protect her brother who is being held prisoner in the cells below her. When a dark haired man with an out-of-place cheeriness, who introduces himself as "Sergeant Barnes", is submitted to the prison camp and placed under Sage's dictatorship can she honestly say that she isn't drawn to him? Attracted to him? Yet the question begs to be asked as feelings blossom and grow; is he just using her as a means of escape? Is what he saying true? Is any of it?
