The 25th hunger games illustrated by a covey girl from the 8th district. Lilian Bone Reeds is eighteen and almost safe from the hunger games when the capitol suddenly changes the rules of the reaping on the occasion of the first quarter quell. Reasons you should read Birds of a feather: Do you like covey girls? Do you like loverboys completely obsessed with them? Do you like the friends to lovers trope? Are you interested in reading a FF about two childhood friends turned lovers (dating in secret) forced to be in the games? Are you interested in reading a FF centered around district 8? Do you want to read more about President Snow's eternal crash out over Lucy Gray Baird and how he keeps picking fights with literal children just because they remind him of her? Does your heart aches for the dead sibling trope? Do you love favorite characters cameos while reading about completely new characters? Are you too completely obsessed by coveys and their names, and the foreshadowing of it all? Do you want to read about Tigris Snow work as a stylist (and the raise of her beef with her cousin)? If your answer was yes, you should check out my story. Disclaimers: English is not my first language, and I write a lot about death.

It is the First Quarter Quell. Districts must elect their tributes. In District 6, relatively well-off Wilkes Compson is elected to represent his home, but he has a youthful and untested view of the world, and all of this will be challenged by the Games. - I will be releasing at least two chapters a week. Please report any typos and grammatical errors in the comment section and please be kind about it. I'm a human being, not a robot.

The Capitol wanted the districts to choose their own sacrifices. They never expected the answer would haunt them. When District 7 votes in the Briar twins, Asher and Willow are sent into a living forest that changes with the seasons and devours the weak. One twin fights with fury. The other survives by kindness. Neither is willing to become what the Capitol demands. As the arena turns beautiful and brutal, the Games spiral toward a moment the Capitol cannot control and cannot erase. Some stories end with a victor. This one ends with a silence.

Maris was the outcast of District 4, so when the announcement reached the ears of those who hated her, joy radiated through their hearts. A deadly, horrible joy. But why was she so hated? A (mostly) canon-friendly telling of the First Quarter Quell, in which the tributes are chosen by their own districts. This story dives into the social and political implications of this concept while also exploring the reasons why the Quarter Quells were announced in the first place. Most characters are original and created by me, but there are some who are owned by Susan Collins, author of the Hunger Games. Updated sporadically (Usually twice a weak) (I will be illustrating some art for this for a few chapters here and there too :)

Fern Rainwater was from District 10. She just got reaped for the 25th Hunger Games, and since it's a Quarter Quell, Fern has to face a even bigger challenge. Even BIGGER than being in the Hunger Games. She has to face 24 other girls for this Quarter Quells cruel twist. With the thought of dieing, and her family watching her being killed, she has to try her best, even though she has no chance of winning being from a outer district, Fern starts to loose hope. She has no experience with using weapons, let alone she doesn't want to kill anyone. Will she be able to do it? The idea of The hunger games belong to Suzanne Collins, but the story-line and characters belong to me.

In the first quarter quell the tributes are not reaped but elected from their own districts. The 25th hunger games are held to resemble to power of the capitol and to manipulate the tributes in seeing not only the other tributes as enemy's but even their home district. These games are only slightly mentioned in the books. But i was curios and felt like they had an impact on the history of Panem. I did not find any other fanfiction about it so i made my own. I'm happy about any comments so i can envelope and stay motivated. I also don't have a strict plan, just write me about your ideas (like a certain tribute, the look of the arena or something else) and i can add it into the story :) English is not my mother language please correct me if you see any grammar mistakes.

Raised among privilege, Antigone Valerius has always been admired for her beauty and money, but dismissed for her idealism. When she leaves the only home she's ever known in the Capitol to teach in the poorest district of the nation, she discovers that District 12 is nothing like the world she comes from: a coal-stained land where hope is scarce, survival is brutal, and every choice carries a cost. Her family thinks she's naïve. The Capitol sees her as just another harmless volunteer. And District 12... well, they loathe the very ground she walks on. She believes she can civilize, teach, and fix a world she doesn't yet understand. But the people of Twelve are far stronger than she imagined - fierce, loyal, and full of life. Friendships form with those who challenge, support, and surprise her, and amid the quiet moments between work and lessons, a complicated connection awakens with someone she never expected to trust...or to care for. Slowly, she discovers that the real savages aren't in the districts at all, but closer to home then she ever realised. In a world where innocence is a dangerous luxury, Antigone must decide how far she is willing to go for justice, for mercy, and for the truth she cannot unsee. Welcome to the 25th Hunger Games.

As daylight breaks over District 10, the solemn occasion of the 25th Annual Hunger Games reaping begins. Circumstances have undergone a shift this year, making it distinctly different from previous ones. In honor of President Snow's continued dedication to the Hunger Games, he has introduced a novel new tradition to the annual competition. "Every 25 years, Penem shall hold a monumental Hunger Games to celebrate the games in such a way that it shall be unforgettable. Each Quarter Qell, we shall collect the game makers together and vote for a special edition for these games. This year, each district will vote for their own Male and Female tribute to participate in the 25th Annual Hunger Games". In a turn of events that defied all expectations, Nyla Stallard and her lover, Marlon Langston, are both chosen to compete in these unique games alongside each other.

They never tell you about the ones who wanted to enter the Games. But they also never told you about the 1st Quarter Quell. In reality, those tributes had no choice either.

"They let the districts pick their own tributes. Naturally, I got voted in." Ember Finch. From a loved covey family. Most hated girl in town. Why? Because she doesn't do fake smiles, small talk, or sugar-coated lies. She says exactly what she means. All. The. Time. And apparently, that makes her a public enemy number one. Now she's headed into a snow-choked, red-tinged arena with everyone thinking they have a chance at survival. They don't. Not really. Nobody does. There will be screaming. There will be chaos. And yes, someone will probably break something, maybe themselves while trying to survive the arena. She doesn't need luck. She doesn't need friends. She needs her wits, her nerve, and the willingness to shove someone off a slope if it keeps her alive. Because here's the truth no one bothers to tell anyone: survival isn't about being loved. It's about being hated well enough to make people underestimate you. And lets just say she has that down pretty well.
