In the original plot, once the stand-in discovers the truth, she causes drama and ends up discarded, while the villain meets a bad end. But Gu Yueyue, now self-aware, decides: if she's a stand-in, she'll outshine the original. She puts on a school uniform, smile bright. "Like this? Getting the vibe?" The villain: *gulp* Heart racing. She swaps to a red slip dress, hair damp, heels tapping. "What about now? Am I your white moonlight?" The villain, trembling: "No." "Then why are you holding me?" Later, she asks, "Didn't you say I'm cuter than your white moonlight?" He offers her a black dress. "Try this one?" She rolls her eyes. "Scram." Gu Yueyue: "The male lead's chasing his wife in the crematorium arc. Want to try it too?" Villain: "Screw that plot. You're mine. I won't let anyone near my wife."

Ray's wife and Lincoln's mother has been lost at sea for nearly twenty years after a sailing accident, causing Ray to take a job as a lighthouse keeper, hoping to make a difference for even just one life. After fifteen years manning the lighthouse with other keepers, it is finally automated leaving Ray to 'enjoy his retirement', though when Lincoln doesn't come back Ray returns to the lighthouse night after night waiting for his son to return.
