Two years. Two years have passed since I had left the man that I loved, my second chance mate. It had been two years since I caved, since I caved in to the fear that Xavier would be like my first mate, abusing me and breaking me far beyond repair. A part of me knew that was the fear talking, but I couldn't help it. I couldn't help but listen, leaving behind the man that I was supposed to stay with for the rest of my life and leaving behind the children that I was supposed to care for.
