Having reached legal adulthood, eighteen-year-old Matthew must now participate in his first National Women's Empowerment Day. In present-day America, this is an annual, twelve-hour event of legal and social role-reversal between genders where men temporarily experience one, waking day of these things that women have to live with the other 364 days. This is a sample entry for the contest sponsored by @Hulu and THE HANDMAID'S TALE.

In a future where women's rights have been eradicated, resistance lives on in a woman strong enough to keep a secret, to pass on her carefully guarded knowledge to others, and to risk her life for the faint hope of freedom in the future...even if that freedom won't be her own.

It was simply another day at the office. My co-workers and I were trying our best to complete whatever work we had on our last day of the week. As I was completing my work, I ended up getting a splitting headache that made my vision go dark. It was then that I heard the familiar voice of a little girl, warning me that I was in danger. When I woke up, I became involved in something that changed my life for the worst.
