When the particle accelerator exploded in central city, it sent a wave of dark matter flooding across the city, effecting many with powers. They are called Meta Humans, and Amber Lillyston is one. Some got control of the weather, others, like The Flash, got superspeed. She got stuck with a curse that kills, a huge, scaled, fire breathing curse.

Iris hasn't been scared of the dark since she was a kid. Even then, she wasn't scared of it the same way others were. Lately though, it's what she sees that scares her.
