This poem is written by me, (Kat Davis) when I went into New York for the first time. I remember feeling troubled because of all of the homelessness and poverty I saw. I grew up in the rural south so I'd never been exposed to such things. This poem was written out of anger and questioning when I returned from the trip. Thank you for taking the time to read it!
