(This is the second book in the series A Horse Story) From being in the wilderness to in a corral, Thunder and another horse from his herd, Scarlett, are tamed by a seven-year-old boy, Mattie, and a sixteen-year-old, Michael. When everything was going better than ever, Thunder and Scarlett get stolen from the ranch, so Mattie and Michael leave to find them. Through the pain and hardship of where he was taken, Thunder find joy with his cart partner, Astra, a black Frisian filly, who helps him, and the other horses escape. A huge storm comes to a peaceful Horse Ranch, where lightning destroyed a part of the fence and the foals get out and gallop to the nearby forest. Wolves live in the forest and the foals end up getting surrounded by them, when something that should be only a myth comes to save them....
