Food Stories

This is a collection of recipes and reminiscences from over sixty years of boating and cooking aboard. A large part of my inspiration comes from visiting eighty-five countries and experiencing their cuisines. Though I have no professional training, I was an instructor in a major culinary school in the mid-1980s.

Five idols bond over "after-training" snacks and drinks, inside their music label's old building. Mysterious but cheerful Hess was a member of the most popular girl group in the Philippines. When they announced a hiatus (to everyone's great surprise), agencies from all over the world started making calls to their company, sending offers to work/collab with the individual members during the said period. The other girls flew to Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, and UK. Hess was sent to South Korea with the promise to be featured on a K-pop boy group's music video, and a job to mentor the girl trainees. It all sounded simple, until one night, she overheard a sad secret in the office pantry. Over time, she formed a sincere friendship with her new workmates.
