In my head cannon, Ben Solo lived and this is the life he and Rey went on to have together. The story begins near the end of The Rise of Skywalker, right after Rey has defeated Emperor Palpatine. Enjoy!

After Crait, the Resistance is all but decimated. It will take time before they regain the strength and numbers to be anything more than an annoyance to the First Order. In the meanwhile, the Force bond between Rey and the new Supreme Leader not only continues but grows. They begin to be able to see one another's surroundings, touch things... and as the bond grows, so does their relationship. Mutual distrust becomes begrudging acceptance. Then a strange sort of friendship. And then... well... ;) Post TLJ Reylo fanfic; VERY Rey/Ben centric; will focus almost exclusively on times when the bond brings them together; A VERY patient slow burn that devotes a lot of time to character development. Immediately following the events of The Last Jedi, the battle for the galaxy continues between the First Order and the last of the Resistance. As the new Supreme Leader takes the throne, the First Order is focused on finding and destroying all who oppose them. The Resistance had disappeared into hiding and desperation has forced them to explore the gray areas of war. Meanwhile, on opposite sides of the war, Rey and Kylo Ren are forced to face the realities of their bond, their complicated relationship, their loyalty to their causes, and their understanding of the Force. This story continues the arcs and themes beautifully woven through The Last Jedi, as well as the narrative from the previous two trilogies. Months have passed since Battle of Crait. Rey has been helping reorganize the Resistance, while Supreme Leader Kylo Ren has struggled to keep the First Order in line. With tensions high, the two with entwined destinies have remained at an impasse. Until now.

The Force knows it commited a mistake and sends a messenger to the Last Jedi to show her the way to get Ben back. However, Rey will not be alone during her journey...she must not be, or everything she has fought for will be lost forever.

A routine mission destroying a Resistance base goes awry and Kylo Ren wakes up with a major problem...and feathers... A young padawan becomes best friends with the chosen one, Anakin Skywalker. She begins to have feelings for him and she's struggling to push them away. Visions start to appear in her mind, her future becomes more clear but Anakin doesn't understand and she gets rejected, only darkness surrounded her then......

Ben Solo is living a comfortable, yet ordinary life as a public relations specialist for a large pharmaceutical company responsible for providing the cure for an illness that has plagued the country and is still spreading because of pollution. The pressure and office rivalry, and the overall tension following the approaching official launch of a new product cause him to develop excruciating headaches, and with them, the ability to unwillingly control people's minds. Far away from the big city, in a remote forest close to the border, another awakening is happening, except this young girl is more willing to use her new powers. Note: the work is a (loose) adaptation (and translation) of a mini-series script I wrote for an HBO contest, but was too much of a coward to submit it. It is also the first time in 15 years I actually write fanfiction and the first time ever I write fiction in English.
