Throughout Slatekit's life, he is constantly ignored, and Silverkit tries to help him through it, but Slatekit will not allow him to get anywhere near him, as he is afraid that Silverkit will hurt him like his mother did. By the time all the kits have become apprentices, then warriors, Slatekit, now known as Slatefur, has mysteriously disappeared, and Silverstorm is very worried to what may have happened to him.

The first being a scorching land called the Cakar Empire. The next one being flooded yearly by the rain is the Delevia Dynasty. The last one a thick forest nearly impossible to navigate us the Cileard Kingdom. My morning began like all other mornings. The clanging of pots and pans rang through my head like a bell. I got up from my hard bed onto the cold floor. The first step out sent shivers down my legs. My legs felt weak and they were. I changed into my normal black tattered dress and walked down the creaking stairs. " What took you so long!" Shrieked My mother "I'm sorry," I said barely audible. "What did you said!?" My mother yelled at me pulling my hair up so I looked her in the eye. " I-I said I'm sorry" my tears were daring to drip down but I held back. " now go to the kitchen," said my mother letting go of my hair and pushing me forward. My life seemed like it was a nightmare of torture that would never end. It was slowly eating away at my self-esteem and mind.
