Liam Tulie has spent his entire life trying not to stand out.
Moving from London to New York was supposed to be a fresh start, but when a chance encounter with Scorpion exposes his extraordinary mutation to the world, hiding is no longer an option. Able to manipulate and sense every form of metal around him, Liam soon discovers his abilities are unlike anything Professor Charles Xavier has encountered before.
Welcomed into the Xavier Institute, Liam finds himself surrounded by mutants who become something he never expected: a family. As he trains alongside the X-Men and struggles to accept the codename Ferrum, he begins to realise that being a hero isn't measured by the strength of your powers, but by the people you're willing to protect.
But while Ferrum is learning who he is, someone else has already decided what he is.
Hidden in the shadows, an unknown organisation is watching his every move. They aren't trying to destroy him. They're studying him. Every fight, every decision, every fear and every triumph is being catalogued, analysed, and turned into data. As Liam's powers continue to evolve beyond anything they predicted, the line between hero and experiment begins to blur.
Because some storms aren't meant to be controlled.
They're meant to be understood.
