My Last Rites My Brother Performed My Last Rites While I Was Still Alive. At fifteen, I was called a monster for a crime I never committed. My family performed my last rites and declared me dead while I was still alive. I begged them to stop. No one listened. I begged them to believe me. No one did. At sixteen, I watched the same ritual with numb detachment. At seventeen, I stopped caring. At eighteen, I watched it with amusement. Because I knew... It would be the last of my last rites I would ever witness. I laughed. Because I knew the next funeral would be real.

Prologue She was unconscious for four days. No one from her family came to see her. Her heart broke. She was in the hospital, yet no one cared enough to visit. Even after everything that had happened to her, she remained alone. As she walked slowly through the hospital corridor, her legs weak and her body aching, she saw them-her family. They stood there, talking in hushed voices. Relief and pain twisted inside her as she limped toward them. Then, without warning, a sharp slap struck her cheek. She stood frozen, numb not from the impact but from the words that followed. "Are you at peace finally? She has been raped because of you. Look at her condition, she is dying." A broken smile formed on her lips. Anyone could see her own ruined state-anyone but them. Once again, they had played their game. Once again, she was the one proven guilty. She wanted to scream, to tell them the truth. "It wasn't her who was raped. It was ME." But no words came out. Only silence.

Riley doesn't remember the last time someone asked if she was okay. Not really asked. Not in the way that meant they were going to stay for the answer. She is seventeen years old and she has already learned the most important lesson this town has to offer - that people leave. They leave with promises folded neatly in their pockets, with good intentions they fully mean at the time, with duffel bags and bus tickets and fifteen days that turn into three years without a single word. They leave, and the ones left behind learn to stop waiting by the window. They learn to stop setting an extra plate. They learn to breathe around the absence until the absence just becomes the air. Riley works the late shift. She carries drinks to tables without being asked twice. She doesn't flinch at loud voices anymore. She doesn't cry at things that used to make her cry. She has become very good at being invisible in a room full of people - and even better at being invisible to herself. This is not the life she imagined. But it is the life she has. And she has made her peace with it, quietly, the way you make peace with things you never had a choice about. She is not waiting for anyone anymore. She stopped doing that a long time ago. Until the night a familiar face walks through the door - and three brothers who left her behind must now face what their absence built. Because blood doesn't forget. And neither does Riley.

Hi, I'm Anna. Before anything else, thank you for picking up this book. If you're reading these pages, it means you've chosen to spend a part of your time listening to a story that is deeply personal to me. I am not a professional writer. I'm simply an ordinary woman who learned about life through love, heartbreak, mistakes, forgiveness, and second chances. For many years, I carried memories that I never thought I would have the courage to share. Some brought me happiness, others left scars that took years to heal. There were moments I was proud of, and there were moments I wished I could erase. But every chapter-beautiful or painful-became part of the woman I am today. This book is not written to prove that I was right. It is not written to make anyone look wrong. It is not written to ask for sympathy. It is simply my truth. The names, conversations, and moments in this story represent a journey that changed my life forever. While some details have been adapted to protect the privacy of the people involved, the emotions, lessons, and experiences are genuine. I know I wasn't perfect. I made mistakes. I hurt people. I was also hurt. Like everyone else, I am only human-capable of making wrong decisions, becoming emotionally weak, and losing my way. There were days when I questioned myself, my choices, and even my faith. But through everything that happened, I discovered something greater than heartbreak. I discovered grace. Today, I choose not to carry bitterness. I choose peace. I choose forgiveness. And above all, I choose to surrender everything to God. If there's one thing I hope you'll take from this book, it's this: Life doesn't end after your hardest chapter. Sometimes, the greatest blessings arrive after the deepest heartbreak. Sometimes, the people who help heal us are the ones we never expected. And sometimes... finding peace begins with finally choosing yourself. Thank you for allowing me to share my story.

Cheyenne Mitchell grew up as an average Christian girl, in a strict Seventh Day Adventist family. But she ALSO lives a double life working as a pornstar, Cece Phoenix, fed into this life by a group of perverted, anti-religious rebels. Until the day comes that she gets caught in a horrific car crash and nearly dies. And when she wakes up, her spirit is pulled out from her body, and taken down to Hell where she is shown NO MERCY. But not all hope is lost, for after Cheyenne realizes what's happened, she is given a miraculous second chance by Christ. When she returns to her body, she's given a new beginning for her life, away from home with various NEW companions, including Albert Johnson, the church guitarist who saved her from the wreckage. She wants to know a few things: is it possible to start over? Can she conquer her past and escape? Did God allow everything to happen for a reason, and if so, why? Because to the world, Cece Phoenix is dead. But even though it's Cheyenne Mitchell who still lives, her friends and family aren't aware, and the past still follows her.... And warning: this will contain very mature and sensitive topics, brief graphic violence, and swearing. The main character is an ex pornstar, but any sexual scenes are going to be kept as subtly and as brief as possible, not TOO explicit in details (with one future exception) Overall, this IS a story on Christian faith and redemption through God, but I won't pull too many punches. Not only are there A LOT of cliches and stereotypes in Christian stories and media, but also a lot of topics that tend to get ignored, such as pornographic topics. However, I believe that it IS important that we acknowledge them, and even more so, I believe it's important to HAVE stories involving Christian faith, that contain a sense of realism, like this one. It'll be a long journey, but I hope you stick around. You won't regret it. Please comment, vote and share this with your friends, and may God bless you with this.

For centuries, the Fire Kingdom prospered beneath the Great Phoenix of Wisdom, whose sacred flames protected the realm. To defend the kingdom, the Phoenix chose four legendary protectors known as the Archons: Azar, leader of the Crimson Flame; Helios, wielder of the Golden Flame; Seraphina, mistress of the Azure Flame; and Edana, the youngest bearer of the forbidden Black Flame. While Azar, Helios, and Seraphina were celebrated as heroes, Edana was feared because of the ancient legends surrounding her power. Though she remained loyal, she was constantly overlooked, treated like the youngest of the team, and never truly accepted as an equal. Broken by years of rejection, Edana left the Fire Kingdom and built her own empire, taking the title Queen Black Fire. When the Archons found her, they discovered that her Black Flame had grown stronger than all three of their sacred flames combined. After their defeat, the Great Phoenix revealed a truth hidden for centuries: the Black Flame was never a curse. It was the kingdom's greatest safeguard and the most important of all the sacred flames. But the revelation came too late. The Fire Kingdom had already lost the one protector it needed most. Archons of Fury is a tale of friendship, betrayal, and heartbreak, where the world's greatest hero becomes its greatest loss-not because she chose darkness, but because no one chose her.

Everyone knew Zane Vincent as the man who stayed late, remembered birthdays, covered shifts, and noticed when someone needed help before they asked. No one knew how much it cost him. For twenty-eight years, Zane has lived beneath the weight of a lie. His father blames him for the medical complications that left his mother paralysed after his birth, teaching him that love is a debt he must spend his life repaying. So Zane becomes useful. Dependable. The person everyone can lean on. At The Lantern House, he finds a second family. With Ana, the woman he loves, he begins imagining a life that belongs to him at last. A safe home. Children. A dog. The ocean. Growing old together. But love cannot survive on promises and silence alone. As Zane hides the abuse consuming him, Ana grows lonely inside a relationship where she is always waiting to be let in. One betrayal shatters the future they planned, and when Zane dies soon afterwards, everyone left behind searches for the moment they should have noticed, the words they should have said, and the person they can blame. Seth missed the call. Ana told the truth too late. Zayden left when his brother asked him to. Their mother remained silent for years. But grief does not offer simple answers, and no single moment can explain a lifetime of pain. You Were the Light We Never Knew We Needed is a story about love, domestic abuse, betrayal, suicide, and the people who must learn to live after losing someone who spent his whole life carrying them. Because Zane Vincent was more than the way he died. He was a son, a brother, a friend, a future husband, and a light no one understood until it was gone. Content note: This novel contains domestic abuse, alcoholism, infidelity, depression, panic attacks, suicide, grief, and bereavement. The suicide method is not depicted.
