Midnight New Years Eve the timer starts. Eighteen humans can finally begin the Search. Two consciousnesses' switch in a soulmate pair. One is the month given to find their counterpart. Since the rise of modern genetic biology, humans have been able to find their soulmate through the trading of bodies. The world's foundation is built on this match making system so what happens when a major flaw occurs? Sophie Foster hasn't had the easiest life nor the easiest boyfriend, making the Switch lowest priority. But when things go awry, lowest priority becomes top. When the day finally comes though, at the stroke of midnight, instead of crashing into her soulmate's body, she's stuck in her own. Keefe Sencen told himself he couldn't have a soulmate because it would cause a scene bigger than his undead mother but on New Years Eve at nineteen, Keefe finally jumps at the opportunity to escape his awful life. Even for just one month. Instead of a world tour vacation though, Keefe is tossed into a confusing situation. He's switched bodies, but it isn't his soulmate's. One misstep and everything could come crumbling down when Sophie and Keefe find each other, Keefe in the wrong body and Sophie in her own. In order to preserve the order of their world, the two embark on a journey to find Keefe's body on fragments of a Cognitive Map but that's not their biggest issue. An organization called the Neverseen are now after the pair and they don't know why, throwing another wrench into the situation. In this Soulmate/Sokeefe AU by LunaristUniverse, identity and what it means to love are reflected onto Sophie and Keefe's trek across the country, the Neverseen on their heels to capture them, so they can find Keefe's body and save the structure of their world. I was writing this before Stellarlune. Keefe has just run away to the Forbidden Cities. Sophie and her friends are trying to find him. Sophie realizes how much she misses him. Maybe a little too much. In this fan plot of Stellarlune Sophie finds out. Has it really all been teasing?

Keefe and his friends are captured by the dangerous group known as the Neverseen, finding themselves in a high-security facility with only their wits and abilities to help them escape. As tensions rise, old feelings come to light, and Keefe's humor and sarcasm remain his greatest defense-especially when it comes to his hidden affection for Sophie. With their powers combined, the group must work together to outsmart their captors and make their way to safety, all while grappling with their personal struggles and the growing bond between Keefe and Sophie.
