Born to two of America's Founding Fathers, Philip Hamilton and Theodosia Burr have a lot to live up to. Their love for their parents is unyielding, as they both wish to please their fathers while they have the opportunity. Unfortunately, the love they have for one another turns out to be defiance. After being told they are to no longer allowed to spend any time together, young Hamilton and Burr defy their fathers' wishes by writing a series of letters back and forth.
