Diminishing Decay is the second story of the series, however, the first was a prequel so this can be read as a stand-alone story! 17 year old Frank and Gerard feel the fears and torment of Gerards sick health. This takes place during "Cancer.", half way through.

Gerard is married to Lindsey, and Frank to Jamia. That doesn't stop the two longing for each other in silence, neither aware of the other's love.

Gerard is 18 years old he had finally completed the age to live on his own.But since his grandmother's recent death Gerard has been having problems with alcohol and drugs his depression has then brought him to being suicidal until he met a man that had always played guitar in the coffee shop he worked at named Frank. Will Gerard commit suicide or will Frank be there in time to heal Gerard's soul and free him from the ghosts that haunt him.

The unexpected obliterates Frank's painfully ordinary life.

Frank and Gerard are forced to go to camp, bumping into each other at an unfortunate time. Gerard is kind of secretive, though Frank plans to figure him out. As they become friends, Frank has a spark of feelings. Will Gerard return this feeling? (Happy ending)

But with a new person in his life will he begin to see things a little more brighter, or will he be left broken hearted?

Gerard Way's depression and old drinking habits are back and Frank Iero tries to help him get better. But what they don't know is that they are both in love with each other, but are too afraid to confess it.
