Mickey and Ian meet years after breaking up in season 5. Mickey didn't go to prison in season five they only broke up. This story is based around the time of season 9. So Mickey and Ian have been broken up roughly 4 years. Now Mickey has a daughter, Carmen who is one year old at the start of this story. Carmen is what was missing in their lives all along. Carmens mother is not a character in this story but she is very briefly mentioned. It took a year for them to finally get the girl they always wanted Brooklyn-Rose Gallagher is a 15 year old troubled girl, she wanted to join the army but because she was placed in the system at just 10 years on, she knew she wouldn't be able to. Whilst they still live in the Gallagher house, Carl and Brooke and the trouble nobody wanted to see. Even though the girl isn't Ian's biological child, she is showing the same traits as he did when he was just 17 years old. Maybe the Russian roulette of mental illness was not over yet. Fiona is still in this book, and she doesn't leave!!!!
