Chara, wanting to escape their old life, since no one really cared or took care of her, decided to leave her life in search of another. They approach a mountain well known as Mt. Ebott, and follow a luring voice that ended up in them falling in a huge crater. And into the world of monsters And Frisk, being awoken by a surge of determination in the underground, follows Chara around until making themselves known. They leave the ruins and come across a few skeletons... Sans and Papyrus (I don't really know what else to put... 😭)

On their first run, the human child Frisk managed to get through the underground without a single scratch on their body. Instead, they befriended every monster they encountered during their run, even going as far as to convince the monster king to try and make peace with humanity. The child went on to live the rest of their days with their new monster family, until unfortunately dying at the young age of 19 due to a new-found disease which is now named "The Buttercup Illness". Every monster was in distraught, while humans only focused on the disease itself and how it came to be; even going as far as theorizing the monster's poisoned the victim. After 5 depressing months of getting over the death of the savior of monsters, a long-time friend of Frisk makes an unbelievable discovery. She's alive.
