Everyone at Hillvalley High knows about the Romero siblings. First, there are the twins. The oldest is Isobel. Smart and beautiful, she is your usual cheerleader queen bee type. The younger twin, Jacob, is your run-of-the-mill jock. More concerned with his muscles than his grades. Then we have the youngest sibling, Soren. The quiet kid with his nose permanently stuck in a book. As different as these siblings are, they all have a secret. One that if they're not careful, can get someone killed.

For me, The Gems Within depicts my own personal highs and lows of being a teenager. Some of you may already know I started writing this book at fourteen as I say throughout my blog. It's not based on a teenager in anyway, neither does it depict moody teenagers moping about. It is an adult novel and should be read by adults. The Gems Within centres on four people; immortal people. They go by the names of Ash (Ashley), Gaia (Gail), Malaya & Monsoon. However; something all joins them, they are immortal. Ash is a Vampire, Gaia is a Fairy, Malaya makes people forget and Monsoon is an Angel. Something else unites these people, they all wear a similar necklace with different gemstones: amber, ruby, emerald and sapphire.This novel shows their daily lives, struggles and events that all unite them. It is not a children's novel, it's adult themes demonstrate real people with real struggles. The book intertwines events we can all relate to and some we cannot. However when it is read, I hope that it will touch the hearts of many and, will leave people contemplating their own lives. I hope that whatever you think of my novel that it will be something that will be sitting on your book shelves five-ten years down the line. (That is if it finds a good home- publisher!) Love, TSITR

I haven't been to the place I put in the story for hunting, but it is a real place, and I did some research on what people usually found when they ghost hunted there.
