It had been just a few short months since Ciel went on his mission to infiltrate the Noah's Arc Circus, where he had taken a persona and even shared a bunk with another circus mate under the ridiculous persona of 'Smile.' It was ironic to receive such a name from the Ringmaster, Joker. But he had stuck with it until he had to exterminate the troupe, including someone he had grown close to, Freckles. Except... that wasn't their true name they went by- In fact, they were truly part of the act, one of the main entertainers, who went by Doll. Even now, the boy didn't understand the exact reasoning behind the girl's double life as posing a boy and a girl, staying in the lousy tents when a luxury and private tent had their name on it.

Moira knows there has to be a reason why she was forced to leave Ireland after her father's drowning, and the secrets her mother keeps aren't calming her curiosity and desire to learn the truth. Her family has been feuding with the selkies, the seal people that surround the village, for years, causing the numerous drownings that lead her mother to fear the water so much. Moira can end the issue - she's supposed to marry a selkie prince once she's eighteen, forever tying her people with the seals. Moira has only just discovered the life hidden from her, and going to live with the seals would mean giving up the life she's always wanted to live. She doesn't want to give herself up to the sea. It will have to come for her.
